Due to increased demand for monitoring solutions for ex-protection zones with extreme climate conditions, AT – Automation Technology optimized and recertified the popular ex-proof enclosure IRCamSafe Ex. This allows you to install infrared cameras in explosion-hazard environments with an operating temperature range from -40°C to +60°C.
Moreover, the protection window has been enlarged. This extends the field of view and in particular enables the use of more camera models then before. Now the IRCamSafe EX comes not only with an ATEX-certification for the use of FLIR Systems camera series A3XX, SC3XX, A6XX, SC6XX, but also the IR cameras Ax5 and G300A (GasFindIR) of FLIR Systems. Furthermore, you can combine the explosion-proof enclosure with the Serval camera of Xenics and AT’s own IRS camera series.
The new ATEX certification proves that the IRCamSafe Ex enclosure meets the latest ex-protection standards. This allows you to install the above mentioned IR cameras in the Ex-protection zones 1,2, 21 and 22. The Certification comprises the complete systems which includes the enclosure with all its integrated components like infrared camera, heater and interface controller. This means the installer/user requires no additional certification for the use of the above mentioned camera models.
As with the previous version, the enclosure comes with an integrated controller that is equipped with 2 fiber optic and 2 Ethernet connections. This enables flexible network integrations in star topology as well as in ring topology. The access is accomplished via an integrated web interface or Modbus TCP/IP. Furthermore, the integrated controller features several digital I/O channels and sensors for temperature, humidity and pressure. Among other functions, the I/O channels allow you to switch on/off the camera and the heater by remote control. A new powerful feature means the added temperature sensor that measures the temperature of the protection window. With this additional information the temperature-measuring infrared cameras can provide you more accurate data.
